be a good neighbor ...

Developing an ecosystem that moves with our neighbors, local economy, and community at large, our projects are adaptable to neighborhood needs, evolve as the community evolves, and unites neighbors. Connect to social goodness with an idea, sharing the needs of a neighbor, or by becoming a Connected Neighbor!

Community unity.

PRIDE STRIDE

Joining forces with our neighboring Glen Cove, Pride Stride shows just how proud we are! Click to see how we burst with color!

Community-supported relief.

NEIGHBOR 2 NEIGHBOR

Neighbors connect directly through personal fundraising and support efforts for those in need in our area. Join us in supporting our neighbors facing personal tragedy by donating any amount to their causes. Know of a neighbor who has started a fundraiser? GIFTS FOR GOODNESS

Sets out to fulfill the Wish List for our neighbors in need by purchasing a gift from a local shop or helping with a bill (a value up to $100). In its fourth year, we connected this project to the North Shore High School's Interact Club and Denise Petersen Yoga to fulfill the wish lists of 40 single-parent families receiving support through St. Boniface Outreach.

CAL'S ART WITH HEART

A Connected Project with 9-year-old Cal Krinsky, who embarked on a mission in December 2023 to raise funds through his art. With a vision of ensuring all children can enjoy art without financial barriers, Cal uses donations from his artwork to provide supplies to children whose families, schools, or camps have faced financial challenges. SInce starting, Cal has raised over $4,000, helping over 750 local children. Click to learn more about Cal's project!

SPOOKY GOODNESS

Trick or treat! Our community-wide Halloween drives includes a costume donation for children ages 2-10 aiming to make trick or treating a little sweeter for 100 children whose families receive support through St. Boniface Outreach. Candy for Troops, a Connected Project with the Citko Family, frees the neighborhood of hundreds of pounds of candy to send to troops stationed domestically and overseas adding a touch of sweetness to their days.

DON'T BE SILENCED

Based on Chief Neighbor Jaime Teich's personal experience, our Don't Be Silenced project supports individuals subjected to verbal, text, and graphic harassment, including unsolicited sexual images. We advocate against silencing recipients and have mobilized trauma specialists to support neighbors affected by these acts.

PEACE FOR UKRAINE

As families resettled in our neighborhood following the devastation of the war in Ukraine, leaving behind everything they know and love, LYNP mobilized to address individual needs. We fundraised and collaborated with local resources to offer financial aid, food support, visa assistance, and assistance in settling into our tiny but mighty village. Our ongoing support continues as our neighbors adjust to their new lives.

better together ...

Archived projects from our first year.

COVID-19 RESPONSE

When the Coronavirus hit our area, neighbors found themselves without the vital resources needed to keep safe. Within a few short weeks, LYNP donated over 2,000 reusable masks created by local mask-makers and bottles of hand sanitizer provided by the Nassau County Office of Emergency Management ensuring all neighbors in need stay protected.

BUST THAT BOREDOM

As a way to help combat the boredom of quarantine, LYNP developed the Bust That Boredom bin. Accompanied by Aimee Renaud's weekly donation to the Boredom Buster bin, located at Sea Cliff Elementary School, together the bins provided SC families themed activities along with the opportunity to donate new or gently used activities that supported over 100 local families in need.

SHOP LOCAL

Local establishments were impacted by the pandemic in unimaginable ways. Businesses our community relies on were faced with severe financial hardships as doors closed, slashed down to skeleton crews, and navigated new guidelines, all while paying bills and salaries. LYNP built partnerships with struggling Sea Cliff businesses, and together we built the strategic roadmap to mobilize the community to collectively stand behind our local businesses.

MOVE THE NEEDLE

In partnership with The Med Station and Branch Real Estate Group, LYNPs VAXapalooza,  an outdoor, judgment, debate, shame, and blame-free pop-up vaccination event assisted neighbors interested in getting the initial Covid and Flu vaccinations, Sea Cliff—style.

COVID-19 RESPONSE V2

With reports suggesting that cloth masks do not offer the best protection against Omicron, the variant that surged in the second wave November 2021, LYNP offered any neighbor, organization, or business facing financial challenges in our community who may be in need surgical, KN95s, N95s or KN94s masks for free.

GIVE SOME REASON TO THE SEASON

Making the holidays a little lighter and brighter while supporting 19 of our Connected Neighbors, the community came together to provide the funding to provide holiday gifts for 25 of our neighbors receiving support through Mutual Concerns.
